Dualismos

Revised Version, 2014

For Percussion Set and Symphony Orchestra

17 de mayo

(GAL)

Revised Version, 2014

For Soprano Saxophone (muta in Tenor Sax) and Violoncello

March, 25st

Prelúdio aos Cantos da Maré (Prelude to Songs of the Tide) represents a calm sea, although in a constant movement, where gestures are developed within a big accumulation process of textures, timbres and dynamics.

Process that it is interrupted by four rings and play an important place into the dramaturgy of the work, because they articulate the discourse in circles in an hypnotic way, like sirens’ songs.

Beltane, Memory of the Fire

2012 - 2014

For Ensemble

January, 31th

In the Celt Culture, Beltane was one of the four most important festivities that belongs to the anual cycle. It was held on May 1st and it was the begining of the good weather and the start of the summertime. This word is composed by bel -good- and tane -fire-, and refers to the purifying and magical sense that these tibes, as in many other cultures, conferred to the fire. In the festival bonfires were lighted on the hills, and cattle crossed them to clean the parasites.

Beyond the poetry of this ancient rite, Beltane, Memory of the Fire is structured in two movements, where the first one is a kind of exposition, almost narrative, and the second one is based on the palimpsest writting technic, in which through the processes and alterations of the memory, the sound is desintegrated step by step, as well as the fire does with the organic material in the combustion process, or the time does with our memories.

Beltane, Memory of the Fire was written between 2012 and 2014 for ensemble (flute, clarinet in Bb, basson, violin, viola, cello, piano and percussion (1)), and it lenghts 15 minutes aprox.
